What is Confession?

I started this project in October of 2006 when I was asked by the youth pastor at our church to lead the teens on Sunday morning through a segment from Dietrich Bonheoffer’s Ethics: specifically the confession of the Church because of the guilt that comes with the being in the presence of Christ (Luke 5:7-10).

My goal with this project is to both educate those who don’t understand confession and to learn from those of you that understand it better than I.

In recent years the Lord has been laying a deeper burden on my heart for those who want to know a true and genuine relationship with Christ. I am compelled by the Holy Spirit to become a voice crying in the wilderness, prepare a way for the Lord. This preparation of our hearts for the coming King.  Jesus is coming again and we must repent (see differently) in order to recognize His coming. We must learn what pleases the King of King  and Lord of Lords. As a bride prepares for a wedding (and long life) with her bridegroom we too must prepare ourselves (make a straight path to our hearts) for the Lords return.

I confess I am not much of a writer. But the love of the Lord for His people the chosen few burns in me like a file fire. Please click around our site, contact us if you have questions or comments.

As I try to explain this to you and layout my case for the need for social confession understand that depending on your world view you may get and understanding that I don’t intend. To try and help with this before I explain what social confession is let me take a moment and explain what it is not. [... Read More]

Belief Confession:

There is some debate on this type of confession so I have set it in its own category. The confession of belief does not quite line up with any other category, yet is so vital to our faith that it deserves to be set apart. [... Read More]
